Mission:
Attract, develop and fund the best wrestlers in the country while providing a training environment where these inspired athletes can attain their personal athletic dreams.
Produce Champions at all levels from the youth in our community to scholastic, collegiate, national, world and Olympic level events.
Assist the Oklahoma University in winning a National Championship.
Expand the community support for the Oklahoma Wrestling program.
Make a difference in the lives of young people through the work-reward relationship that can be learned through wrestling.
What is The Oklahoma Wrestling Club?
The Oklahoma Wrestling Club is a Regional Training Center that was created with the intention of funding an Olympic Hopeful at each of the seven weight classes in FILA freestyle competition. The Oklahoma WC supports the athletes so they can have a singular focus on making a World or Olympic team and winning the gold medal. While they don't live a luxurious life style, the athletes have their housing provided and a monthly stipend to support basic living expenses. We also provide them with some of the top coaches in the world, the best facilities at the McCasland Field House Training Center on the Oklahoma University campus, and the training partners that can help them reach their full potential.
Where does your funding go?
All of your financial support goes directly to the Oklahoma WC.
These funds are used to support our Olympic Hopefuls while training and living in Norman Oklahoma. These funds are also used to support Oklahoma wrestlers in off-season USA sanctioned competitions, which will enable them to gain the experience necessary to win the NCAA Tournament.
With your support we will be able to attract, develop, and fund the nation’s premiere freestyle wrestlers.
Lastly, the funding will allow us to hire and retain a world class coaching staff, ensuring the long term success of our team and catapulting The Oklahoma University to prominence as one of the top five programs in the country.
The Oklahoma WC will support the wrestling communtiy in Norman, Oklahoma by:
Providing intructional opportunities for scholastic, collegiate, national, world and Olympic wrestlers.
We will be offering out of season camps and practices for scholastic, collegiate, national, world and Olympic wrestlers.
We will be funding travel to non-NCAA National and International competitions and training programs.
We will also be offering open seminars and clinics by nationally recognized experts on nutrition, healthy dieting, weight control, sports psychology, and strength training.
